What is IPVA?

The Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) is a tax that motor vehicle owners pay to the state.

This tax is mandatory and covers all types of vehicles, for example; cars, motorcycles, buses and trucks.

The charge is made annually and the price varies according to the value, model and state where the owner of the vehicle resides. Therefore, the more expensive the car, the higher the tax will be.

How to pay IPVA 2022?

To check the IPVA and make the payment, the vehicle owner must access the website of the State Treasury Department, if it is from São Paulo.

Then, check your debts by entering your RENAVAM number to find out the amount of the debt and generate a payment slip on the Detran website. 

The tax can be paid at banks, lottery outlets, Internet Banking or via the bank's app.

Additionally, you can pay in installments on your credit card, pay in cash or in installments.

If you are from another state, you can check the value of IPVA 2022 on the website of the Finance and Planning Department of your region.
