There is no shortage of successful franchises in the gaming market. These are franchises that move from console to console and, at least in the gaming universe, cause a huge stir whenever new releases involving these games occur.

Some examples of these successful franchises are games like God of War, Resident Evil, FIFA, Mario – and his entire universe – and so on.

And in addition to these franchises that we have already mentioned, there is one that is always a sales success on all consoles where it is released.

And, even though it is involved in certain controversies from time to time, it has won over a legion of fans who eagerly await new releases.

We're talking about Grand Theft Auto – or just GTA, for those in the know.

Taking advantage of all the commotion surrounding GTA 6 and the trailer that recently leaked online, we decided to create special material talking about this successful franchise.

As we read on, we will understand the game together, discover everything about the leaks that have occurred recently and learn more about whether this will affect the future of the franchise or whether fans can rest assured regarding the game's release.

What is GTA?

You know that kind of video game that ends up 'bursting the gamer bubble' and ends up becoming known by many people who are not even that familiar with the world of consoles? GTA is one of those games.

Grand Theft Auto – or simply GTA – is a series of multiplatform action/adventure video games published by Rockstar Games.

Released in 1997 on the Playstation 1, the games in the series are set in fictional cities, but they have one thing in common: they are all dominated by crime and the action of street gangs.

Based on real-life big cities – mostly North American cities – the game focuses on the main character, who is a criminal.

During the game, the character finds himself involved in a series of situations involving illegal activities, such as violence, trafficking, theft, prostitution, and so on.

When playing, the character can follow two different paths: complete missions to progress in the story and, consequently, advance in the game or play freely and explore all the possibilities that the game offers.

Since its first editions, the game has always been at the center of a series of controversies. But the biggest one is in relation to all the violence and crimes that are part of the game.

These factors are what draw the ire of parents around the world who consider the game to be a negative influence on young people.

But these controversies also contributed to the game's success, ensuring that it gained new editions over the years.

And by all accounts, we've just seen a little bit about GTA 6, the next release in the franchise.

Could GTA 6 trailer be the biggest leak in gaming history?

When any type of leak occurs, the general public's first thought is whether the content is actually real or not.

But, by all indications, the content that was part of this leak is real.

And, according to journalist Jason Schreier – who already has a history with news related to the game – he claims to have confirmed with his sources at Rockstar Games that the leak is not only real, but can also easily be considered the biggest leak in gaming history.

So far, it is not known for sure how the company will deal with this leak. So far, there has been no official statement from the company regarding this.

While some internet users believe that this event will not affect the game's launch, the most pessimistic believe that the game may even be canceled, given that the leak was gigantic.

Conclusion

So, what did you think of this whole GTA 6 story, trailer and leaks?

As much as a leak is not a good thing – especially on a scale like this – it can be said that this type of situation is not necessarily all bad.

After all, even though a leak – of content that is not properly finalized – like this one ends up giving a premature glimpse of the entire story of the new release, it can also have a positive side.

This leaked content serves to further pique fans' curiosity about the final version of the game.

Now we just have to wait to find out what the future holds for the franchise and whether or not this leak will affect the game's official launch.

But, by all indications, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out, as the game is only expected to officially hit the market after 2025.
